Imagine Me: Image in Me™ – 10th Anniversary Tribute

Imagine Me: Image in Me - March 24, 2007

Reprinted from my Facebook tribute dated August 22, 2017:

Remembering my mom’s birthday in a very special way. She would have been 79 years old today. It’s really hard to go through any day without thinking about her. It really is.

Besides me, my mom was Diedre’s biggest fan. About the time my mom was on hospice care at home, Diedre was getting so much attention because of Imagine Me. The week that she eventually passed away, Diedre was being honored in DC due to what God used her to do through the dance project.

When Diedre would visit her bedside, my mom would greet her with her very weak voice and so much pride in her eyes saying, “Hey Celebrity!” It was so special – and a long story.

My baby celebrated the 10th year anniversary of her dance project, Imagine Me: Image in Me  this year. So many people donated so much of their time, adults, teenagers, and even small kids for that special time.

Unfortunately, Imagine Me would become the last stage performance my mom would see Diedre perform in. So we honor her memory and all she gave to Diedre during that benefit performance today on her birthday.

We also want to recognize that one of her grandchildren will be going to Haiti to do mission work leaving tomorrow doing what she loves – teaching dance to children. My mom would be so proud – her little chocolate baby is taking Imagine Me international.

To God be the Glory!!!

Imagine Me: Image in Me

This is the 10th year anniversary of an incredible program that I birthed when I was 15 years old. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since that benefit concert. We had a blast!

The goal of Imagine Me: Image in Me™  is empowerment. It all began with the vision to empower young girls ages 12-18 through dance. I am grateful for so many people who supported my vision and believed in me. My church family, my family, and all of the participants who made Imagine Me a great success!!

Stay tuned…
